Sato Kikuchi
Sato Kikuchi has been the Chef de cuisine at North since July 2008. Born in Japan, Sato moved to New Zealand in 2001, and there, met Peter Gordon, Executive Chef at dine by Peter Gordon, the signature restaurant of SKYCITY Auckland.
Sato began working at dine, combining his specialty of Japanese cuisine with that of Fusion style. This change in direction had a huge impact on his career, and his life as well.
Three and a half years on, Sato’s fusion style of cooking is no longer experimental; it has evolved and matured into North’s Signature style, building a large following of loyal customers along the way.
Sato finds himself trying more innovative and unique flavour combinations in his pursuit of the once in a lifetime culinary experience. Sato is inspired by all the wonderful fresh produce South Australia has to offer, whilst drawing on his Japanese heritage for flavours, spices and new cooking techniques.
Sato would like his customers to enjoy a truly unique meal in the professional but relaxed atmosphere that is North Restaurant.
